Police to quiz PAS leaders

PENANG, 16 Feb 2009: The police will record statements from PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa and Penang state PAS Commissioner Ustaz Mohd Salleh Man in connection with an illegal political ceramah last night.

The ceramah was held opposite the Masjid Jamek Sungai Nibong here.

Penang police chief Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob said the police monitored political ceramahs as the speakers might touch on sensitive issues which could cause tension or provoke anger among the public.

He was speaking to reporters at the state police headquarters here today.

Ayub said that about 300 people attended the ceramah at 9.45pm, which was organised without a permit. — Bernama
