Govt chides MLTR concert organiser
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 Sept 2009: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Jamil Khir Baharom today chided the organiser of this Saturday's concert by Michael Learns to Rock for not taking into consideration the sensitivity of Muslims in the country.
The action by the organiser to go ahead with the concert at the Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands, Pahang, showed their disrespect for the fasting month, he said in a statement here today.
He said his statement should be taken in the spirit of 1Malaysia for the sake of unity and harmony. — Bernama

If holding a clean musical concert is considered "insensitive", then I say the government can go fly kite.

Wonder what is it with the government and MLTR? Do they not have better things to do? MLTR is not those type of bands that adovacate drinking and heavy metal elements. So much ADO about NOTHING...!
Since Genting Highlands is a "sin" area for certain people, let them not go there and peace be upon those who wish to enjoy themselves to the music of MLTR. Win-win situation, no?

He should ask RTM to stop all entertaining films, all government cultural performances to respect the fasting month.
He is just another arrogant Umno [minister].

Hahaha, the last sentence reveals finally what 1Malaysia is meant for.
To cloak whatever inane statements they come up with, such is the slogan's vagueness. It can be used for anything as useful as propaganda or selling flags. I laugh to keep from weeping.

Spirit of 1Malaysia? Then I foresee our government will soon fine and lock up all the restaurant owner/foods sellers during the fasting month where food can only be served at buka puasa time!

I wished he could have said the same thing about the cow-head protesters.
