S’gor MB wants Port Klang adun to resign

October 29, 2009

SHAH ALAM, 29 Oct 2009: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim wants the Parti Keadilan Rakyat Supreme Council to advise Badrul Hisham Abdullah to resign as Port Klang assemblyperson.

The menteri besar will also be sending a delegation to reiterate the matter to the assemblyperson personally.

“The state government is aware of the mounting complaints from the people of Port Klang over the non-performance of Badrul Hisham Abdullah,” Abdul Khalid’s political secretary Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said in a statement here today.

He said the state government could not tolerate incompetent and irresponsible leaders as they would seriously undermine its effort to improve the people’s economic and social lives.

Nik Nazmi added that since the assemblyperson was issued a show-cause letter dated 20 Aug 2009, he had made no effort to improve on his work.

Despite stating his willingness to meet state and party leaders, Nik Nazmi said, Badrul continued to be evasive in meeting state and party leaders. He had also refused to answer calls or text messages, and had failed to re-open the service centre for his constituency, Nik Nazmi added. — Bernama
