Sabah PKR welcomes former PBS division head

August 26, 2008

KOTA KINABALU, 26 Aug 2008: Sabah Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) liaison chief Ansari Abdullah welcomed the move by former Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Kiulu division head Sindin Ranggangon to join PKR.

"I welcome Sindin’s move to join PKR as such a decision contributes to the struggle for a change for the benefit of the people and the state.

"His entry into the party will not only strengthen PKR in Kiulu but also within the Tuaran parlimentary constituency," he told Bernama.

Ansari hoped that more leaders in the BN component parties in Sabah would follow suit soon.

He was commenting on Sindin’s intention to join PKR after announcing his resignation from his party with immediate effect and the dissolution of the Kiulu PBS division on 25 Aug, citing loss of confidence in PBS president Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan’s leadership as the main reason.

On 14 Aug, the PBS disciplinary committee issued a show-cause letter to Sindin for asking Pairin to hand over the reins of the party to other PBS leaders.

Meanwhile, newly appointed Tuaran PKR division secretary Jumin Jeffrey Masuling said the division was ready to receive Sindin with open heart.

Sindin had not set any terms or conditions for joining PKR, he said, adding that many people had begun to realise that the PKR’s struggle was for all the people. – Bernama
