Port Klang assemblyperson denies leaving Pakatan

February 12, 2009

SHAH ALAM, 12 Feb 2009: Port Klang assemblyman Badrul Hisham Abdullah today denied rumours that he had left Pakatan Rakyat.

“I am still doing the job of Port Klang assemblyman as usual.

“My commitment is still strong and undivided to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and the Pakatan Rakyat leadership on the whole especially in Selangor,” he told a press conference here.

He said the rumour was spread by certain people to create confusion in the Pakatan Rakyat government in Selangor and he had met the party’s top leadership to explain all issues that cropped up about him all this while.

“I will try to correct all weaknesses raised and I am committed to continue serving the people,” he said.

On claims that he seemed to have been missing off late and difficult to be contacted or hardly met the constituents, Badrul said: “I am in my area.” He said he was in his office everyday and sometimes beyond office hours.

On other claims that he was involved in a “khalwat” case, he said: “No, I did not do it.”

Asked whether he had been offered to cross over, he said he had not received any offers and he had not thought of jumping to another party. — Bernama
