Oil royalty will be highlighted

By BFM 89.9

January 19, 2009

TWO days after PAS wrested the Kuala Terengganu seat away from the Barisan Nasional, people are getting back to their daily lives while both the ruling and opposition coalitions assess their performance.

In this 9.10am interview on 19 Jan 2009, The Nut Graph‘s senior journalist Deborah Loh tells BFM 89.9’s Norina Yahya that the new PAS Member of Parliament, Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut, will likely highlight the issue of Terengganu’s oil royalty. She says the BN must also do some soul-searching after its candidate Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh from Umno lost by a 2,631-vote majority.

The interview also discussed how different communities voted for either the BN or the Pakatan Rakyat.

The by-election was a three-way fight that also involved independent candidate Azharudin Mamat @ Adam, who only garnered 193 votes.

BFM 89.9 is a 24-hour radio station focused on business news and topics.
