With Nelson Mandela, "the only man I ever wanted to marry", on his visit to Malaysia in 1990 after his release from 27 years in prison.

Ayatollah Khomenie lagi hebat, dia boleh runtuh dua empire, empire Shah yang korup dan empire Amerika hanya dalam penjara di France!

To Izzy and Penjaga,

Surely there is more to Islam than the hijab. Perhaps in your views by covering one's head one is absolved from the more pressing issues hindering the progress of muslim women in this country.

Anonymous Coward,

I, too, find it interesting because it means that the average Malay Malaysian has grown beyond Umno. Umno is backward and a relic. It is a dinosaur in the age of fighter jets. Umno cannot comprehend nor accept the needs of the current generation of Malay Malaysians.

Umno was created for leadership. Unfortunately over the decades, the leaders lost touch with the people. The first and foremost to do this was of course our well-loved Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The excuse was, it was for the people's benefit. But while today we have first class infrastructure, our education policies and racist directives ensure that people remain in Umno's stranglehold.

It is refreshing to know that the current generation of Malay Malaysians are moving away from Umno into new horizons. That way we can only do better.

I understand that SIS is all for the betterment of Islamic society and I'm all for that but my first impression is, why don't any of them (the Sisters, I mean ) cover their heads. I'm not much of an expert in Islamic law but isn't it "wajib" for women in Islam to "menutup aurat"? What is SIS's take on the subject?

It's interesting to note that the daughter of one of the founders of Umno seems to feel that it isn't worth saving anymore. I wonder how many people from that generation feel the same way.
