Saiful Bukhari meets Islamic affairs officers

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 Nov 2008: Mohamad Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who alleged he was sodomised by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, went to the Federal Territory Islamic Affairs (Jawi) office here today.

Mohamad Saiful Bukhari, who was accompanied by his father Azlan Mohd Lazim and lawyer Zamri Idrus, arrived at the office at 11.05am but declined to state the purpose of his visit except to say that he had come for a discussion with officers at the Investigation Unit of the Jawi Enforcement Division.

“I am not going to elaborate on the purpose of my visit. It is only a discussion with officers,” he said when approached by reporters at the Jawi office premises.

Mohamad Saiful Bukhari, 23, then read out a statement to reporters, saying he was refuting all the allegations and slander hurled at him on websites and of talk that he had fallen ill, become paralysed, was suffering from venereal disease, and had even died.

Anwar, 61, had on 9 July 2008 lodged a complaint at the Jawi office in accordance with the laws pertaining to qazaf (wrongfully accusing a chaste Muslim man or woman of adultery or homosexuality).

He has also claimed trial in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to voluntarily committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature with Mohamad Saiful at Desa Damansara Condominium, Bukit Damansara between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on 26 June 2008. — Bernama
