Nik Aziz’s condition improves, hopes to attend state assembly sitting

KOTA BARU, 21 Oct 2008: Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, who has been warded at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital, is hoping to be discharged soon.

He said his health condition was improving and he hopes to attend the budget session of the state assembly sitting, which began yesterday.

“I could not attend yesterday’s opening of the state assembly sitting because of injury to my left knee cap, a result after falling from a horse sometime ago.

“The problem surfaced after my return from the meeting of the Conference of Rulers in Kuala Terengganu on 16 Oct. However, I’m getting better and hope to be able to attend the state assembly sitting,” he told reporters at the hospital today.

Earlier, Barisan Nasional members of the state assembly, led by opposition chief Datuk Md Alwi Che Ahmad of Kok Lanas, visited Nik Aziz, who is also PAS spiritual leader, at the hospital. — Bernama
