Mini budget expected to be RM10bil

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 March 2009: Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Kong Cho Ha today said that a part of the second economic stimulus package or the Mini Budget will involve an estimated spending of RM10 billion.

Kong said this to reporters after the first reading of the Supplementary Supply Bill 2009 at the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

He said the projected RM10 billion will involve RM5 billion for development expenditure and the remaining for management.

“At the moment I think it’s five plus five. That is what was tabled today. All will know on 10 March,” he said when met by reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

The second reading of the Supply Bill will be debated at 4pm on 10 March. — Bernama
