Kelantan Umno Youth lodges report against Nik Aziz

KOTA BARU, 25 June 2009: Kelantan Umno Youth has lodged a police report against PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat for likening Umno to a deviationist teaching and communism.

State Umno Youth chief Anuar Safian said the remarks uttered by Nik Aziz on Sunday,14 June were seditious and could lead to tension among the people.

Speaking to reporters after lodging the report at the Kota Baru police station here today, Anuar claimed that Nik Aziz had likened Umno to the Ayah Pin deviationist teaching and communism, and had purportedly said the party had rejected Islam.

Anuar was accompanied by about 100 Umno Youth supporters, who carried placards denouncing PAS for forming a pact with the DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat.

“The allegation had ridiculed the country’s history and constitution as Umno upholds Islam and has brought development to the people,” said Anuar, adding that Nik Aziz had angered and upset Umno members and the people. — Bernama

  1. mythlord says:

What has gotten into Nik Aziz? First, the challenging of talks (not even a unity government) between Umno and PAS, now likening Umno to a communist, Ayah Pin-like cult?

Clearly, this is but a case of chickens coming home to roost. Nik Aziz condemns those who talk of unity govenment as traitors, as he was involved in the Kepimpinan Ulama in the 1980s that overthrew his old leader and mentor. He sees his sins flashing in front of him.

And you fellas expect the rakyat to vote for you when you treat the most honourable Tok Guru like this??

  3. What a childish act. Do they have to always run to the police like cry babies every time such things happen?
