I was just in Kuala Lumpur last week. This seems like a very backwards way of thinking. All efforts should be put into preventing the spread of deadly illnesses. Accusing everyone with a condom or who's taking birth control pills of being a prostitute sounds medieval. Even married women use those things sometimes. I agree with "lezzo" that this is a health issue and not a religious one. The government should be sponsoring and promoting the use of protection and safe sex to prevent HIV, the same way it is using heat scanners in the airports to prevent the spread of H1N1. It would also help if they look at condoms as preventing STDs instead of promoting sex. The mentality of the government after 23 years of combating HIV/AIDs is a sad state of affairs. They proudly highlight their nationality and the "evidence" i.e. condoms, pills, etc. Nothing is ever mentioned about how they ended up in these places or who was responsible. It appears that the police enjoy catching these girls instead of going after more dangerous criminals like robbers, snatch thieves and muggers.
